

Margueritte Anna (Lehman) Miller “Meme” of Baytown, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2013 after a brief illness. Born on February 20, 1922 in Vernon, Texas to Anna Tiroff and Edward L. Lehman Sr., she graduated from Five-in-One High School, and then attended Texas Technological College in Lubbock where she was a member of the Sans Souic organization of Texas Tech and Honorary Cadet Major of the Reserve Officers Training Corps. Later she received her BA degree in biology at Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio in 1943, where she was a member of the Madame Curie Society. After graduation she was employed as a laboratory technician at the Humble Oil Refinery butyl rubber plant in Baytown until becoming a full-time wife and mother.
Margueritte was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended regularly until falling ill. Margueritte’s hobbies were attending to her beautiful yard (which she mowed until just four years ago), being active in the Eva Maud Garden Club, and sewing. She was a wonderful seamstress who helped design and make wedding dresses and wedding party outfits for many Baytownians as well as uniforms for the Sterling Stars. She was also the original secretary for the Olympia Swimming Pool. Margueritte loved being around her three great-grandchildren. She would meet them every morning to see them off to school and greet them after school with a quick snack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother Ed Lehman Jr. and sister Agnes Gloyna, and by her husband of 57 years, Louie Marvin Miller of Arkansas, whom she met while both were working at the Humble Refinery.
She is survived by her son Michael Miller and wife Betty of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, her daughter Shirley Martin and husband Bill of Baytown, her daughter Connie Einkauf and husband Oscar of Plano, Texas, her grandchildren Kristy Baumbach and husband Allen of Baytown, and Kaitlin and Charles Einkauf of Plano, and her great-grandchildren Kylie, Aeson and Kortlyn Baumbach of Baytown.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Monday, June 10 at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown followed by a graveside service.
