Saturday, March 2,2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 2, 1946 in
Corpus Christi, Texas. She moved to Baytown in 1974 and married the love of her life Genaro
Salazar Sr. She worked for Goose Creek ISD as lead custodian for 26 years and later retired to
do what she loved the most which was taking care of her grandbabies. Nena is preceded in Death by her husband of 26 years, Genaro Salazar Sr, her parents Jose Alonzo Moreno and Pauline Martinez Moreno, Her grandsons Henry Rene Gutierrez Jr, and Jonathan Dylan Gonzales, her sister Esther Rivera Butler, and her brothers, Juan Luis Moreno, and Jose Alonzo Moreno Jr. Nena is Survived by her sister Clara Sanchez of Baytown, one brother Ralph Moreno of Corpus Christi, and baby sister Guadalupe Castillo of Corpus Christi. Nena is survived by all of her children, two daughters, Suzie Franco Gonzales and Ernes Chavez of Baytown, Sylvia “Cindy” Gutierrez and husband Henry of Baytown, and sons Jose “Joe” Franco and wife Lupe of Baytown, Genaro Salazar Jr. and wife Mary of Baytown, Joe Pompa of Baytown and Chris Anthony Salazar and wife Jesica of Baytown. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; Jennifer, Jill and Heather, Jesslyn, and Juan Gonzales of Baytown, Tiffany Gutierrez of Baytown, Joseph Franco and wife Erica of Baytown, Aerielle, Sarrah, and Nic Pompa of Baytown, Jordan, Janelle, Genaro “Bubba”, and Tony Salazar of Baytown, Jakob, Krislynn, Joel and Kloie Salazar of Baytown, John Hagberg of Baytown, Dominique Maldonado of Baytown, and Fabian Maldonado And 10 Great-grandchildren; Joseph Jr., Jay,Jace, and James Franco of Baytown, Kingston and Princeton Parker of Baytown, Jayelle Pompa of Baytown, Neveah and Adrian Compos of Baytown, and Jalyzza Villarreal of Baytown. She is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Nena enjoyed life and and wanted nothing more than to be with her children and
grandchildren. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in
Baytown, TX. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday March 6, 2019 in the evening from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Earthman Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be
Thursday, March 7,2019 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1124 Beech St.
with Father Jesus Lizalde as Celebrant. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Jakob Salazar, Juan Gonzales, Genaro “Bubba” Salazar, Tony Salazar, Joseph Franco, Moises Sanchez Jr., Josh Garcia, Nic Pompa, Chris Salazar, Jose “Joe” Franco, Genaro “Bear” Salazar, and Joe Pompa.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joel Salazar, Joseph Franco Jr, Jay Franco, Jace Franco, James
Franco, Kingston Parker, Princeton Parker, Adrian Compos, John Hagberg, Fabien Maldonado.
The family would like to give special thanks to Essential Hospice especially her nurse Sandy
