She was a longtime resident of Baytown and a longtime member of Faith Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime member of Presbyterian Women’s, Elizabeth Circle. She served as the church librarian and sang in the choir for many years. She retired from Baytown Sterling Municipal Library where she worked with the book mobile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gayle Furnish; a sister, Betty Furnish; and a brother, Thomas Furnish, all of Ft. Wayne, IN.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Thomas Reaves; a son, John Thomas and wife Stefanie; grandchildren, Jace and Caleb Thomas, all of Baytown, TX; two brothers, Charles and Warren Furnish of Ft. Wayne, IN.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3900 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Faith Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Friends of Sterling Municipal Library.
