Mary was born on July 7, 1930. She was a resident of Baytown since she was young child. She attended Lee College and the University of Houston in pursuit of an education degree. After graduation, Mary returned to her high school alma mater, Cedar Bayou, to teach math. Teaching was Mary's passion. Nothing made Mary more proud than seeing the success of a former student.
Mary enjoyed playing bridge, and usually tried to play two or three times a month. She enjoyed many great times with her wonderful bridge friends. Mary also liked baking; her cherry and chocolate pies were the very best. Any time that you were feeling down, one sweet bite would put a smile on your face. She loved playing golf with her ""Pinkie;"" her dream was to hit a hole in one. During the spring, Mary could be found watching her beloved baseball team, the Houston Astros. Her and Alden loved to cheer on their favorite player, Craig Biggio.
