Matthew "Matty" J. Corbett Jr.

Matty was born in New Orleans, LA on September 22, 1998. He was raised in Chalmette LA, Quincy MA, and Baytown, TX. He attended local schools and graduated from Sterling High School in 2017.

Matty is the beloved son of Wendy (Tassin) Corbett of Baytown, TX and Matthew J. Corbett Sr. of Boston, MA. He is survived by his sisters, Kristi Berry of Baton Rouge, Lauren Moyers and her husband Archie Moyers II of Baytown. He was the uncle of Hannah and Lily Fuselier of Baton Rouge and Claire Moyers of Baytown. He was the grandson of Mary (Walsh) Corbett of Boston and the late Coralee Tassin, Aubert Tassin, and Matthew J Corbett. Matty is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his long time girlfriend Madison Landor.

Matty's childhood was mostly spent on a field. Whether it was baseball or football, this was where he could be found. From playing little league baseball at Baytown North to being a multi-sport athlete at Sterling High School.

After graduating from high school, Matty spent time with family in Boston, then Baton Rouge, and then he made his way back home to Baytown. It was during this time that he discovered a passion for cooking. You could find Matty listening to his favorite music and making a mess in his momma's kitchen while cooking for his friends.

To know him was to love him. Whether you were family, friend, or the love of his life. He felt deeply and gave you his whole heart and welcomed everyone on his journey.

A visitation for Matty will be held Friday June 23, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. Baytown TX 77521. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday June 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Navarre Funeral Home.
