Neal Allan Smith, age 50, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2021. He was born in Pasadena, Texas on October 2, 1971 to Eddie Merril Smith, Sr. and Carrie Jean Wilkinson. He was married to the love of his life Tonya Smith for 24 years.
Neal served a short time in the United States Air Force. He then went on to work for the State of Texas for 12 years as a Correctional Officer and left the State as a Lieutenant. After that venture, he started working for the plants and pipeline and was working for Enterprise Products Pipeline Division in Baytown as a Control Room Operator.
Neal loved all things military and was so proud of his two sons, Rhett and Hunter, for choosing to serve. He loved collecting guns and knives and he passed this love down to his sons. Neal loved to take his sons hunting and fishing and taking the family for boat rides. Neal’s world revolved around his sons and grandson. He was the proudest grandpa when his grandson was born on the 4th of July and that made his day because he was so patriotic. He was a huge family man and his wife, sons and grandson meant everything to him. He was the best role model for his sons and for everyone around him. Many looked up to him and called him for advice. Neal loved all of his family, immediate and extended, very much and was always there to help in any way that he could.
Neal also loved his precious rescue cats, his cats were his babies. Just picture this big burly macho man coming home to his sweet babies and talking to them, loving on them, and spoiling them. He even fed the neighborhood cats and warehouse cat at work. He made sure the squirrels and birds outside were fed too. Neal had a huge heart for animals.
Neal also loved riding his 2016 Harley-Davidson Road Glide and loved taking rides with his wife and spending the day on the road. He was so proud of his Harley. He passed away doing what he loved.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Neal Hart Smith and J.A. Wilkinson, his grandmothers Betty Jean Frank and Lula K. Smith and Uncle Tommy Ray Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Smith; his son Rhett Smith and wife Alexis and grandson Gunner Allan Smith; his son Hunter Smith and girlfriend Carolyn Wood, his parents Eddie Smith, Sr. and Carrie Smith, his brother Eddie Smith, Jr. and wife Denise; father in law and mother in law Charles and Susan McCawley.
