Ofelia Medina, 66, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2026. She was a loving wife, caring mother, kindhearted daughter, strong sister, best grandma, and friend. Ofelia was born in Suchitlan, Guanajuato, Mexico to Magdalena Tierrafria and Antonio Mendoza.
Ofelia married the love of her life, Noel Medina Sr. Following his passing in June 1984, she dedicated her life to raising her six children on her own. Ofelia worked for Goose Creek CISD for 30 years. She was also an active member of Templo Bethel. She had a strong faith in God, and even in her toughest days, she never lost her hope or her praise. She was a mighty warrior for the kingdom. Her hope and desire were always for her Heavenly Father. She touched many lives with her strength, service and compassion. Blessed with a lifetime of wisdom, she shared her knowledge, encouragement, and love for God with everyone around her. Through her journey, she never stated she was in pain or complained but remained a God fearing woman with a strong, unwavering faith. She was regularly called "Guerrera" and pillar of faith by those who knew her.
Ofelia always loved serving and caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very humble, selfless and willing to help anyone in need. Ofelia enjoyed sewing, caring for her plants, had a love for cooking and especially enjoyed making her gelatinas. But her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband Noel Medina Sr., daughter Marina Lopez and parents Magdalena Tierrafria and Antonio Mendoza.
Ofelia is survived by her children: Jose Medina & his wife, Maria; Noel Medina; Janet Tello & her husband, Cirino; Pablo Medina; Daniel Medina & his wife, Damaris; sister Queta Mendoza; numerous siblings, grand children, great grand children and extended family members.
Ofelia would want everyone to know that she received her miracle and is now completely healed, rejoicing in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, Ofelia will forever be in our hearts as the love, light and strength that brought our family together. Her voice will continue to resound in our memories with “estamos bien".
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
