Park Anderson

She was born May 13, 1927 in Paris, Texas. She was a graduate of East Texas State University in Commerce. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward J. and Julia Park McKinney of Cooper; two husbands, Joe D. Wood and Warren M. Anderson; one brother, Edward McKinney; and an infant son, Joel David Wood.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Wood and wife Kathy of Austin; two grandchildren, J.D. Wood and Lizzi Wood, also of Austin; a sister, Nancy Jacqmein and husband Jacq of Southlake; niece Julia McKinney of Milwaukee, WI; nephews Lyle McKinney of Rockford, IL; Scott Jacqmein of Dallas; and Bill Jacqmein of Boston, MA.

Park was an active participant in the yearly Relay For Life fund-raiser for breast cancer research, and attended each Relay for the past 10 years. In addition, she was active in the American Cancer Society Support Group for the past 13 years. She also was a long-time volunteer at Grace Methodist church. Park’s personality and kindness will be missed by her many friends.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Tewold officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
