Refugio Sustaita Jr.

Refugio arrived in Baytown, TX in the early 50’s from Houston with his three brothers. He grew up at the old Houston Dairy Company Farm, just north of Baytown. There he attended school at Lamar Elementary and Cedar Bayou Middle School. He began working at an early age and continued to work throughout his entire life until illness occupied most of the last eight years.

He enjoyed fishing, and when not doing so, he loved attending his son and grandson’s baseball games as much as they loved playing in front of him. Refugio was known to some as “Cook.” He had been friends with many, and was very well liked. His honesty and concern for others was always sincerely felt. His love for his wife Linda, as well as his children, grandchildren, brothers, and sister, always brought happiness to him. He left countless memories for his family and numerous friends, that we will always hold dear to our hearts.

Thanks to the many people who assisted with his times of need, and a special appreciation to FMC Dialysis, San Jacinto Methodist, and Kindred Hospital. We thank you.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sustaita; sister, Rachel Ferreri, and Arthur De Los Angeles; brothers, Tommy & Becky Balero, Albert Balero, Pete & Linda Ortiz, and Eulalio & Tammy Gomez; daughters, Lisa & Joe Lugo, Laura Sustaita & Luis Garcia, Tricia Lynne Sustaita; son, Armando M. Sustaita & Martha; and his 10 grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Gonzalez, Ruben Aguilar, Albert Aguilar, John David Hagberg, Rigo Aguilar & Christian Lugo. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Krispin Rene Sustaita Rodriguez, Jose Aguilar, Carlos Ortiz and Arthur Basquez.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Jay & Tammy Gomez.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Funeral Serves will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
