

The Rev. Billy F. Tomlin, 88, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 in Baytown, Texas. He was born in Tyler, TX. His parents were Henry Herbert and Sarah Frances Tomlin of Tyler. Rev. Tomlin has lived in Baytown for the last 7 years, and was a priest of the Episcopal Church, serving his last few years as chaplain for St. James House.
Prior to becoming a priest, he had 20 years of service for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a graduate of the University of Texas with two master's degrees, one in history and one in religion and was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. During WWII he was a naval airman and was the officer of the day during the Bermuda Triangle incident. Following his discharge from the service he worked for AT&T and Southwestern Bell, putting the Televisions Communication in for NASA at Houston.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patricia Ann; and a brother, Donald Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Ann, of 68 years; a daughter and her husband; a son and his wife; four grandchildren and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the St. James Chapel, 5800 W. Baker Road, Baytown, Texas, 77520, with Bishop Rayford B. High, Jr. officiating.
