

Robert Cameron Redus, 23, of Baytown, TX was born April 8, 1990 in Victoria and passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 in San Antonio. He was raised in Baytown and attended Baytown Christian Academy where he graduated as co-valedictorian in 2008. Cameron was active in gymnastics, football, soccer, and had a real zest for adventure. After attending the University of Houston he enjoyed traveling extensively through Central and South America with his younger brother, Everett. Through the summers he continued to work as a videographer and lifeguard for Lake Tomahawk Christian Retreat Center. He furthered his education at Lee College before transferring to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. There he studied Communications with a specialization in Convergent Media and was set to graduate in May 2014. Cameron was a Deans List student, active on campus, a member of the UIW cheer squad, and was an employee of Sherwin Williams. He also participated in volunteer work for the Assistance League of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alton W. and Lenora Emma Redus and Betty Lou Barnes and uncle, John Alexander. He is survived by his parents, Mickey and Valerie Redus of Baytown; brothers and sister-in-law, Kristopher and Rebecca Redus of Corpus Christi, Everett Redus of Denton, and Ethan Redus and William Redus, both of Baytown; grandparents, VH Barnes of Kingsville and Mary Helen Pinner of San Antonio; nephew, Harrison Redus of Corpus Christi; aunts and uncles, Karan and Dan Cockrell of Victoria, Butch and Shareen Redus of Huffman, Kay and Dennis Mahan of Austin, Sandy Alexander of Alaska, Patty and Lou Hollers of Crowley, and Susie Barnes of Kingsville; and numerous cousins and friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Randy Piatt, Neil Anderson, and Dr. Mack Jones officiating.
