Rosa Mae Bowman

Rosa Mae Bowman, 88, of Cedar Bayou, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2012 with her loving family around her. She passed away at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Rosa was born February 28, 1924 in Cedar Bayou, Texas to Susie Devereaux Ellender and George Ellender. Rosa was an LVN and owned a beauty shop. She retired, moved to Livingston, Texas and opened a flower shop. Rosa loved flowers, was an accomplished painter who studied under Windberg. She was a divine cook who loved to cook for her family and friends and was well known for her delicious home-made buns.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Mom - Susie Devereaux Ellender, Dad – George Ellender & Step-mother – Effie Ellender/ husband Joe E. Bowman, son, Dudley E. Bowman, and sister Marie Garrett.

Rosa is survived by her daughter in law, Norma Kovar Bowman of Canyon Lake, Texas; grandchildren: Joe & Claudia Bowman of Kenner, LA, Rosa Jene & John Williams of Cypress, Texas, and Sherri & Oscar Arias of Kenner, LA and numerous other family and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and doctors at ICU & 2 West Unit at San Jacinto Hospital for their loving attentive care; To Remington Park staff and Cedar Bayou Baptist Church (Pastor & Members) for their loving support.

Graveside Services will be Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521, with Brother Mark Broussard of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church officiating.
