

Ruby Andrew, 83, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born in Woodford Hill, Dominica, on December 4, 1942, to the late Dilcy and Samuel Joseph. In 1968, Ruby married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Mark Andrew. Together, they spent the next 57 years building a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.
Ruby had a servant’s heart, she made her career as a registered nurse, where she was able to care for others. Some of the hospitals she had the pleasure of working at included Houston Methodist Baytown formally known as San Jacinto Hospital, Gulf Coast Hospital and Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
Devoted to her faith in God, she was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church for more than 40 years. She was also a member of Legion of Mary, and Catholic Daughters. Ruby willingly prayed the rosary daily for all her family and friends, asking God to protect them always.
Ruby pursued many interests, some of which included her passion for jewelry making and spending time with the members at Curves where she would often exercise. She could often be found volunteering at the church Bazaar where she would help with the activities or preparing food and ushering at church. In her free time, Ruby also enjoyed visiting the sick and the elderly in nursing homes so they wouldn’t be so lonely. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending precious time with her family.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Cynthia and Bomlyn; her brother Perry; and her grandson Jerry Wayne, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband Mark; her children Susan Allen and husband Jerry, Kathleen Thomas and husband Lester, and Kim Andrew; her grandchildren Natalya, Alexandria, and Sarjay; her great-grandchildren Marcus, Jr., Jordan, and Capri; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W Baker Rd, Baytown, TX 77521, on March 11, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, with the Funeral Mass starting at 10:00 am. The Committal Service will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521 at 11:30 am.
