

Ruth Black Williams, 92, of Baytown was born March 16, 1919 in Millican, TX and passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in a Channelview hospital. She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church. In her younger years, she loved going to Lake Livingston and going fishing. Ruth was a true homemaker; you never stopped by without being offered something sweet. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Ruth loved to laugh and make others laugh. She loved the holidays because that meant being with her family and that she could dress up in one of her many fancy hats. Ruth lived a full life and was blessed beyond measure. Her laugh will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon O. Williams; son, Vernon T. Williams; and grandsons, Kenny Thorne, James ""Bubba"" Massengale, and Tommy Massengale. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and James Massengale; granddaughter and husband, Steffani Williams and Michael Burt; grandsons and wives, Jamie V. Isaacks, Joel and Kristin Isaacks, Jason and Lori Isaacks, Donnie and Rhonda Massengale, Bobby and Steffani Massengale, Timmy and Denice Massengale, and Mike Thorne; great grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Easton, Kyle, Kameron, Karsyn, Zachary, Christina, Asher, and Aiden Isaacks, Kylee Anderson, Paxon and Fallon Burt, Justin, Jacob, Heath, Bobby, Maci, Mackenzie, McKade, Joshua, Colby, and Priscilla Massengale, Jami Navarre, Heather Hallman, and Jacob Thorne; great great grandchildren, Jillian, Carter, and Blair Massengale and Kaylee and Addyson Navarre; special friends and extended family, Brenda and Mike Meredith, Cynthia Stewart, Kathy Muckleroy; and her Bible Study group from Memorial Baptist Church.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Walter D. Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
