Shirley A. Archer

Shirley A. Archer, 77, of Crosby was born November 3, 1935 in Memphis, TN and passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at her home. She retired from Citizens Bank and Trust Company (Now AmegyBank) as Vice President of Accounting. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and the Bay Area Volkswagen Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Inez Johnson; brother, Eugene Johnson; sister, Marnett Sanders; daughter, Valerie Archer Tarnick; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur Elsworth Archer, Sr. and Frances Lucille Cowan Archer; and brothers-in-law, Francis Cowan Archer, MD and Arthur Elsworth Archer, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert H. Archer of Crosby; son, Bobby Archer of Baytown; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Murphy Johnston of Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandon and Kenna Archer, Elise Archer, and Christopher Tarnick; great grandson, Cameron Michael Henson; and son-in-law, Bill Tarnick.

Her family will receive friends Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Memorial Baptist Church Chapel, 600 W. Sterling St., Baytown, TX 77520 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Piatt and Rev. Alan Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Wood, Bill Tarnick, Christopher Tarnick, Thomas Barnes, Tony Montez, and Michael Dupont.
