He and his wife, Debbie, and son, Chris, have called Baytown home for nearly 27 years. Steve worked for Valero Energy for the last 24 years, and still has many friends both there and in the Baytown community. Steve loved traveling to tropical islands, and for the last few years, taking motorcycle trips across Texas and New Mexico with Debbie. He looked forward to sharing the wonders he’d seen with his son, Chris. Scott, his brother, was his best friend and they were inseparable. These last three months, Steve could not have had a more supportive team than Scott and Debbie. Our lives will never be the same, enriched for having known him and hollow for having lost him.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Walter; son, Christopher Wade Walter; mother, Sandra Hanel; brother, Scott Walter; sisters, Stacy Hendrix, and Tracy Walker and husband Craig; and Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dean Walter; grandparents, Warren Dean (Pop) and Nettie Marie (Grandma Eddie) Walter; and cousin, Jeffery Tinnell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Funeral Home Chapel, Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville, TX.
