Tara Little, born on February 21, 1984, in Baytown, Texas, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, strength, and an unforgettable presence. Tara earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Prairie View A&M University and began her career in social services, fiercely advocating for disadvantaged children. Later, she transitioned into the insurance industry, building a successful career as a claims adjuster, most recently with Gallagher Insurance, where she continued her passion for helping others.
Tara’s success allowed her to achieve financial independence, purchasing her own home shortly after college—a milestone she took great pride in. Never one to settle, she also earned her real estate license and dreamed of one day owning a farm. Tara was full of fire and personality—her smile lit up the room, and she was never afraid to speak her mind. She had a deep love for movies, baking, beauty, and makeup and took immense pride in her Trinidadian heritage, cherishing its music, food, and traditions.
Above all, Tara had a fierce love for her family, especially her nieces, nephews, and younger siblings, who affectionately called her "Sista Tara." She had a gift for making each of them feel special, encouraging them to embrace their beauty inside and out. She was also a pillar of support for her cousins, often the first babysitter for many of them and always stepping in to care for family during times of sickness. No matter the situation, she was always willing to give, show up, and be there when needed.
Tara's caring nature extended beyond people to the things she loved most including her beloved dog, Gordo. He was more than just a pet; he was her loyal companion, always by her side through life's highs and lows. Whether she was spoiling her nieces and nephews, standing up for those in need, or simply relaxing at home, Gordo was there—a reflection of her unwavering love and devotion to those she held dear.
She is survived by her father, Andy Richardson; stepmother, Gabriella Richardson; mother, Nikita Barnes; grandmother, Helen Little; brothers Anthony Richardson and wife Zaida, Andre Richardson and wife Mona, Antwone Richardson, Nicholas Barnes, and Eric Barnes; and sisters Ashleen Richardson and Constance Johnson. She is also remembered by a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her love and generosity, carrying her memory in their hearts.
Tara’s presence could never be ignored—her energy, love, and fiery spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
