

Travis L. Irby, 79, of Baytown was born April 4, 1928 in Marfa and passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007 in a Houston hospital. He was a 1949 graduate of the College of Mines, now the University of Texas El Paso and a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321 AF & AM. Travis retired after a career in the commercial credit sector, after which he served as a volunteer for SCORE. He enjoyed woodworking and making things for his family and friends, but most of all he loved being with his grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Irby, Lance Davis, Brian Davis, Frank Irby, Mike Moore, and Hank DeBruhl.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Doris Irby and brother, Albert Ray Irby and is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Karen Irby of Denver, CO; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Mike Moore of Denver, CO and Debra and Brian Davis of Baytown; brothers, Frank Irby of Plano and James Irby of Fort Hancock; sister, Emily Carter of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Kimberly and Lance Davis, Erin Jackson, Michelle Denison, Kristin, Allison, Janelle, and Isaiah Irby; and numerous friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral and Masonic services will be Monday, September 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Hoffmann officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery.
