She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church of Dayton, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Cook; parents, GE Bird and Eunice Maurine Bender; and her brother, David Eugene Bird.
She is survived by her siblings, Eunice Marlene Grafe of Hallettsville, TX, Shirley Irene Newby of Dayton, TX, and William Edward Bird of Conroe, TX; son, James Howard Franklin and his children of Quitman, TX; daughter, Suzie Jackson Longley and her children of Waxahachie, TX; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at 12 pm, Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church - Barton Building, 408 W. Clayton St., Dayton, TX 77535.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Monday, December 9, 2024, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
