

Will Oliver Jr., age 90, of Baytown departed this life January 8, 2008 in Houston after a long illness. Will was preceded in death by his parents Will Oliver Sr. and Nancy Ann Adams, a wife Mildred McMinkin Oliver, son, James Randal (Pete) Oliver, sisters, Elva Ganson and Dee Dee Pierson, and a brother Delbert Oliver.
Will is survived by a wife of 23 years Gladys Nalley Oliver of Baytown; daughter, Frances Elaine Mandell and husband Hal of San Antonio; step-daughter, Janice Harvey and husband Bill of Houston; a sister, Maggie Streich of Baytown. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Arlene Mandell of New Braunfels, Bridgett Redman of Mont Belvieu, Lance Mandell of Ft. Worth, and Jimmy Oliver and wife Karen of Mont Belvieu. He is also survived by numerous great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Will Oliver Jr. was born September 28, 1917 in Ganada, Texas and served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a plumber by trade, but enjoyed carpentry and building things in his shop. He never met a stranger and loved visiting with his neighbors. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Baytown.
Visitation will be Thursday January 10th from 6-8 P.M. at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday January 11, 2008 in the Navarre Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., before the service, at the Northside Baptist Church 300 Cedar Bayou Rd. behind H.E.B.
His family would like to acknowledge the loving assistance of the Houston Hospice in easing his final hours, and the many friends who called, visited, and offered encouragement during this time.
