Carolyn Sue McAlister, 84, of Lumberton, died Friday, April 3, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A native of St. Elmo, IL., she has lived in Lumberton since 1963, and was a retired 2nd grade teacher with Lumberton ISD. Carolyn enjoyed outside and working in her yard, cooking, reading, exercising, and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert McAlister, parents Homer and Velma O'Haver, and her 2 brothers Bill O'Haver, and Dale O'Haver.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters Shar Thibodeau of Lumberton, and Darlene Irvin and her husband Dan of Fulshear, TX., three grandchildren, Daniel Irvin and his wife Emily of Houston, Donald Irvin of Huntsville, and Denise Sanders and her husband Nathan of Sammamish, WA., and two great grandsons Micah Sanders and Thomas Sanders.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
