Donald Arthur "Red" Russell, Sr., 86, of Village Mills, died Monday, May 20, 2024 at his residence. A native of Stanton, TX., Red was a longtime resident of Beaumont, before moving to Village Mills 25 years ago. Red was a retired crane operator from U.S. Steel. Red enjoyed reading,smoking his pipe,wood working and was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas A&M football fan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at 9:00 am until service time on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Red was preceded in death by his parents Ellis Russell and Irene Salles Vivier, and his brother Rodney Russell.
Red is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Lois Russell, son Duncan Russell both of Village Mills, son Donald Arthur "Rusty" Russell, Jr of College Station, daughter Janet Lynn Russell of Ridgecrest, CA., brother David Vivier of Beaumont, and his sister Peggy Vivier of Colorado, his grandchildren Tanner Russell of Sevierville, TN., Madison Russell of College Station, and Noel Russell of Bryan, and two great grandchildren Zaeden Vela and Drayce Russell.
Red will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
