
Don was born in Beaumont to the late Roy Herman Tantzen and Ruby Mae (Nobles) Tantzen. On March 15, 1969, he married the love of his life, Brenda, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. They were united at Woodland Baptist Church in Beaumont, where Don remained deeply devoted and was the last living charter member.
Don faithfully served his community as a board member of Boy’s Haven and was an active member of the Jefferson Theater Preservation Society. He found joy in traveling, reading, and spending cherished time with his family. Don was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Gayle Tantzen; daughters, Nancy Ann Wang and husband George, and Karen Irene McKinley and husband Ridley; brother, Herman Eugene Tantzen and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Jack, Lucy, Linus, Martin, Ethan, Trey, Cain, and Colin; special cousin, Nancy (Nobles) Sheffield; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Cremation services are being held under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A private inurnment will take place at Davis Cemetery in Kirbyville at a later date.
