Doug grew up here in Beaumont. After finishing trade school, Douglas worked as a pipefitter in the Golden Triangle for most of his career and was a member of Pipefitters Local #195. Doug then went on to drive trucks for Lumberton tower. He enjoyed being outdoors in his free time, either hunting in the woods or out on the water fishing. Doug was a quiet and humble man, loved by his family.
Doug is survived by his brother-in-law Frank Gooch of Kountze; aunt Ruby Paul of Clarksville, TN; uncle Ben Snow and wife Betty of Clarksville, TN; uncle Glen Parsley and wife Mary Louise of Beaumont; nephew Michael Gooch and wife Robin of Bridge city; niece Carolyn Boyd of Beaumont; cousin Jerry Parsley and wife Judy of Lumberton; and cousin Susan Parsley Hoyt and husband Charles of Conroe.
Doug was preceded in death by his father Edwin Parsley and mother Zella Mae Parsley; sister Patricia Gooch; and wife Sandra Parsley.
A gathering to share memories for Doug will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life will occur Friday, September 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with his burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park to follow.
