Kathleen grew up in Beaumont and graduated from French High School. After spending some time at Brigham University in Utah, she returned to Beaumont and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Lamar University. Kathleen than attended Sam Houston State where she received her Master's in Library Science. She taught at Thomas Jefferson High School before becoming the librarian for South Park Middle School. Kathleen was a woman of faith with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints here in Beaumont.
Kathleen loved to travel. She loved cruising the open ocean, flying to Europe, and road trips across the United States. If you couldn't find her, chances are she was long gone in her R.V. with dogs in tow. She was always looking for dogs to rescue, and loved the ones she found. Kathleen was a loyal, selfless woman who was always ready to give. She dearly loved her two nephews, Mark and Ray, and great nephew Julian, who she helped raise. She also took care of her parents as they grew older. Kathleen was the cornerstone of her family, and they all knew if you had a problem, you went to her about it.
Kathleen is survived by her brother Bobby Leonard Tucker, sister Helen Goodhue, brother Albert Ray Tucker, brother Bobby Frank McCauley, sister Mary Pelton and husband Curtis, and sister Beatrice Mears; nephew Raymond Meece and wife Erin, great niece Courtney Meece, great nephew Julian Meece, great nephew Marshall Oldbury, great niece Sonia McCauley, great niece Casey McCauley, great nephew Riley Mears and great nephew Gabriel Mears.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Everette Ousley and brother-in-law Craig Mears; and nephew Mark Olbury.
A Celebration of Kathleen's Life for Ellen will be held graveside on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703, in the Garden of Roses.
