Eugene W Robertson

Eugene Robertson, age 84, died, Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Beaumont, TX. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Goolsby officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

Mr. Robertson was born on September 7, 1928 in DeQuincy, LA. He was a member of the North End Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge B.F. Quicksall No. 1370, Beaumont, Texas. He served in the United States Marines. He retired from Dupont after 25 years as a maintenance foreman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Zelma Robertson, brothers Estil, Arnold, Lewis and sister LaWanna.

Survived by wife of 65 years, Eugenia Robertson. They were married in Arlington, Virginia while he was serving in the Marine Corps. Gene and Genie resided in Beaumont for 30 years and the last 35 years in Kountze, Texas. Other Survivors include Two daughters, Debby Shackelford and her husband Donald of Kountze, TX and Wanda Venza and her husband Ernest of Conroe, TX. A sister Iris Lounsberry of Alexander, LA. Three grandchildren, Jason Shackelford, Juliana Crawford, Marco Venza, Two Great Grandchildren, Trevor Shackelford and Evan Venza.
