Regie graduated from French High School in 1964. He was a man of many passions and a strong sense of duty. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He studied at Lamar University and a year of Marine Biology at Miami University. He found enduring love with Jean Paxton, and together they shared a beautiful marriage of 51 years in Vidor, TX. He loved to take her dancing. Their union blessed them with four daughters whom he cherished deeply.
A devout Christian, Regie was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Vidor, where his faith was central to his life. From a young age, he exhibited a spirit of service having been involved in Boy Scouts.
Professionally, Regie was a Manager and Co-Owner Bayou Gasket Hose. He was a visionary for the entire industry as he foresaw the dangers of asbestos products well before it became widely known and championed a shift within the industry. Regie's leadership made Bayou Gasket Hose a frontrunner in adopting safer alternatives. His commitment to safety even extended to Lamar University, where he organized conferences featuring guest speakers to raise awareness and promote these advancements. Regie's foresight left a lasting impact, making the gasket industry a safer place.
Regie later became the proud owner of J&R Antiques, a business he founded in 1990 and continued to lead until his passing. His passion for antiques, coupled with his skill in building and restoration projects, defined much of his life's work. He also engaged in estate sale appraisals, showcasing his expertise and love for preserving history. Regie also loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing when he wasn't fixing furniture with his antique business.
Regie is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Pierce. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Pierce, his daughters Laurie Michelle Fetterolf, Stacy Leigh Jackson (Carl Jackson), Kimberly Ann Dobson (James Dobson), and Kelli Elizabeth Hoke (Daniel Hoke). Regie was a cherished grandfather to his 14 grandchildren: Jon, Nick, Shannon, Lauren, Jacob, Karlie, Katelynn, CJ, Chelsey, Madison, Laura, Larissa, Dylan, and Matthew. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Kynleigh, Kailyn, Sabrina, Essie, and Graysyn.
Regie Pierce will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, and his passion for preserving the past through his beloved antiques. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Gathering of Friends and Family for Regie will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM. Regie will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Assurance.
Serving as pallbearers are James Dobson, Jacob Fetterolf, Jon Fetterolf, Daniel Hoke, Carl Jackson and Jordan Teston.
