March 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence L. Marshall, who left us on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the age of 95. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Florence was known for her vibrant spirit, lifelong passion for adventure, and dedication to her community.
A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Florence was a proud member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1947, where she served as Drum Major. Florence’s love for the arts and performance extended into her life as she became a well-known ballerina in Beaumont. Her love for movement didn’t end there—she was an avid bowler and a three-time City of Beaumont Bowling Champion. She continued to bowl until the age of 93, maintaining an impressive 146 average.
Florence also had a love for motorcycles. At 72, she purchased a Goldwing Trike and set off to travel the country, embracing her sense of adventure with a freedom and joy that inspired those around her.
Florence was the cherished matriarch of her family. She is survived by her sons, Randy Marshall and his wife Dianna of Atascocita, Ricky Marshall and his wife Barbara of Lumberton, and Roger Crutcher of Lumberton; her daughter, Kathleen Marshall-Green and her husband Dean of Houston; along with 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
A visitation will be held for Florence on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Rev. Lynn Fontenot officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Florence’s legacy of love, adventure, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
