Raised during the Great Depression, he spent his life appreciating everything and never taking anything for granted.
He eagerly joined the Navy and served our country fighting in the “Pacific Campaign”, during World War II.
After the war, he completed his education and then spent his career as a Wood, Wire and Metal Lather and as Business Agent in the Southeast Texas area.
He was proud to have been a Charter Member of the Hammerhead Scuba Diving Club and told many stories of their adventures.
Not long after retirement, he decided to go back to work and began a new career as a Juvenile Detention Officer in Hardin County, Texas. He loved working with the “young and broken” and they always responded well to his positive influence.
He enjoyed his golden years relishing any opportunity to display his mastery of the game of pool, and played often at the Best Years Senior Center in Beaumont.
He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye.
He will always be remembered for his quick witted humor and as the one who always brought the fun with him wherever he went.
He was a joy to everyone who ever met him and he will be greatly, greatly missed!
