Gladys Davis

Gladys Mageors Davis passed into eternity on Sunday, October 3, 2010, in Lufkin, Texas. She was born the tenth child of Samuel Morgan Mageors and Sarah Moody Mageors on August 13, 1921, in Baytown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Samuel, Grady, Phil, Robert and Thurman; four sisters, Gertrude, Ruth, Loreene Holmes and Hallie Lay. Prior to relocating to Lufkin in 2005, Mrs. Davis resided in Beaumont for many years.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Sara Rayburn and husband V.R. of Lufkin, Texas; son, Hartwell Paul Davis and wife Diane of Charleston, South Carolina; son, Frank Davis of Baytown, Texas; and son Michael Davis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandsons, Scott Rayburn, Steven Rayburn, Ty Davis, Brian Davis and Jeremy Davis; granddaughters, Phaedra Manning, Amanda Sizova, Charity Mugoh, Stacy Clawson and Rhonda Davis; twelve great grandsons and eight great granddaughters.

A graveside service will conducted in Beaumont, Texas at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, October 6th at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Joseph Constantine will officiate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to ministries or organizations benefiting children. Special gratitude is extended to the compassionate staffs of Castle Pines Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice.
