Gregory Galaviz, 77, of Vidor, died Thursday, September 19, 2024 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor for 77 years, and was a retired auto technician with Classic Chevrolet in Beaumont. Gregory was a handyman, and enjoyed working in the yard, spending time with his family, he enjoyed tinkering around with cars and also (in his younger days) he enjoyed racing cars, but his biggest passion was playing golf.
A Celebration of Gregory's Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Jose' and Maria Galaviz.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Linda Alfaro Galaviz of Vidor, son Joseph Galaviz of Bridge City, daughters, Gina Clark and her husband Bobby, Jr. of Daisetta, TX., Tina Edmondson and her husband Mike of Vidor, and Andrea Long and her husband Dustin of Victoria, brother Mario Galaviz of Groves, and sister Theresa Apadoca of Vidor.
He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Mark Edmondson and his wife Leanna, Bobby Clark, III and his wife Tori, Breanna Wilson and her husband Ian, Vanessa Clark, Gage Galaviz and his wife Amber, Draven Galaviz, Bianca Barrera, Kalina Long and Lylah Long.
Gregory is also survived by his eleven great grandchildren, Camden Edmondson, Peyton Edmondson, Haydin Edmondson, Grey Wilson, Hadleigh Wilson, James Clark, Reid Galaviz, Alistair Galaviz, Roman Galaviz, Oliver Galaviz, and Zadie Galaviz.
Gregory will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
