Howard Samuel Hamilton II, better known as "Buddy," passed away peacefully in his home in Beaumont, TX on July 21, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born on September 26, 1934, in Wichita Falls, TX, to Howard Samuel Hamilton and Maude Ella Wilson.
Buddy led a fulfilling life marked by dedication and adventure. After graduating from Beaumont High School in 1952, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country with honor until his honorable discharge in 1957. On September 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Patsy Edwards, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.
Professionally, Buddy began his career as a draftsman for a shipyard before venturing into entrepreneurship. Since 1974, he was self-employed, dedicating his efforts to Hamilton Pools.
Buddy had a passion for fishing and travel, whether exploring the world or navigating the open road in his motorhome. His adventurous spirit and kind-hearted nature endeared him to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Samuel Hamilton, his mother, Maude Ella Hamilton, and his sister, Carol Akerman. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Hamilton, and their daughter, Stacey Abbey, along with her husband Wes of Beaumont, TX. He also leaves behind grandchildren Lauren Paradis and husband Tyler of Little Rock, AR, and Jared Abbey and wife Amy of Baytown, TX, as well as great-grandchildren Adeline Paradis, Casey Abbey, and Olivia Abbey.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Howard's caregivers from Gentiva Hospice and Home Instead, especially Bree Johnson, for their compassionate care and support.
Howard "Buddy" Hamilton will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, adventure, and love will continue to inspire us all.
A Celebration of Life for Howard will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the State Room at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
