Ireneo Sumagaysay, born on December 15, 1934, in Iloilo, Philippines, found eternal peace in Beaumont, Texas on October 12, 2023. He was a dedicated husband, father, and a beloved member of his church community.
Ireneo was a faithful husband, hardworking and loving father to his children. He had a successful career as a sales manager at American Products and held a Bachelor's degree in accounting, showcasing his commitment to his profession and education. In 2012, he and his wife moved from Houston to Beaumont, where they quickly became part of the community. Ireneo was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he nurtured his deep Christian faith.
Ireneo was known for his love for his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he was able. He also enjoyed playing chess and had a passion for reading, often finding inspiration in his Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents Serafin and Concepcion Sumagaysay and his beloved daughter, Sofia, who now rest in eternal peace.
Despite the challenges of life, Ireneo's devotion to his family was unwavering. He is survived by his loving wife, Nelly, and their children: Sonia Roxas and her husband Michael, Susan Orencia and her husband Elmer, Sandra Sumagaysay, and Sarah Villegas and her husband Shane, Samuel Sumagaysay and his wife Theresa. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Peniel and her husband Justin, Phanuel, Paul and his wife Kristen, Philip, Daniel, Sunny Grace, Kayla, Katherine, and Samantha, and by his great grandchildren: Piper, Graham, and Taylor.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4-6 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in building 7 located at 3650 Dowlen Rd, Beaumont, TX 77706, with the funeral service on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10 am at the same location in the main sanctuary, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park located at 4950 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703.
