

James Carol Riley, 90, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on February 15, 1935, in Magnolia, Texas, to the late Vance B. Riley and Vivian James Riley.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country with honor. James retired from DuPont Beaumont works after 33 years of dedicated employment. He married the love of his life, Barbara Looper Riley, on Christmas Day, December 25, 1959. Together, they celebrated 65 years of marriage and built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
One of James’s proudest accomplishments was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always placing his family first. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Looper Riley; his son, James F. Riley, and his wife, Teri; his daughter, Stacey Riley Rodriguez, and her husband, David; his grandchildren, Bailey Riley and Bryce Riley; and his sister-in-law, Gracie Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vance B. Riley Jr.
James was known for his strong work ethic and honesty. His greatest legacy was raising a close-knit, loving family. He was also an avid fan of old-school 50's music, enjoyed dancing, and had a deep interest in investing and playing the stock market. James also had a special love for spending time at the family’s lake house on Sam Rayburn, where many fond memories were made.
A man of integrity and kindness, James will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his unwavering love for life.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
