Joyce Evelyn Dauriac Norris peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her residence in Beaumont. Joyce was born on August 3, 1929 in Beaumont to Laurent Joseph Dauriac Sr., and Ruby Dauriac. She graduated from South Park High School in 1946 and furthered her education at Lamar University with a Major in Art.
She was a dedicated homemaker and her primary devotion was to her husband and her children. She was a faithful Christian and served the Lord for 58 years at Tyrrell Park Baptist Church, Beaumont and First Baptist Church, Cheek, committing herself to teaching young children about Jesus. She loved art and was an active member of the Painted Daisy Chapter. She also sang with the senior Adult Choir of FBC, Beaumont at area nursing home facilities. Joyce had a very outgoing personality and loved meeting people. It was often commented that she never met a stranger. A very caring person, she always placed others’ interests before her own.
Joyce and husband Cecil enjoyed the outdoors and spent many summers in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. As expected, they established many deep and lasting friendships with their neighbors. Other travels included ventures to the East and West Coasts of America, Mexico, Canada, and Israel.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Cecil E. Norris Sr., children Cecil E. Norris Jr. and wife Karin, Michael Ray Norris, Deborah LouAnn Norris, Larry John Norris and wife Deborah Lynn, all of Beaumont. Grandchildren Ember, Tucker, John Jr., Meagan, Rachel, Michael Jr., and great grandchildren Brooke and Anderson. Sisters Delores Davis and Kaye Sells of Menard.
