Kitty was born March 20, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri to Lawrence Adolf Lundhoy and Katherine (Candy) Vest Lundhoy. Kitty grew up in Marshall, Missouri, with her grandmother Mamie Donahue Vest until she graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. She married Leslie Deal Eitel of Marceline, Missouri on August 27, 1961. They had two daughters born in Missouri, Leslie Renee and Kristina Leigh. In September 1966, the family was transferred to Beaumont, Texas. A son Lance D. Eitel was born in 1968. Kitty worked for several physicians here in Beaumont, retiring in 1998.
She married Jim Ammenheuser in 1986 and together they shared a fondness for the water and boating. She became a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and served during the Gulf War, Desert Storm.
Kitty later developed an interest in genealogy through which she located many cousins and “kissing cousins” across the USA and Denmark. She had a passion about finding these people and staying in touch.
Kitty was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and grandfather Grover C. Vest, paternal grandparents Adolf L. and Cathinca C, an infant sister, her parents, her stepmother, Margery Kivett Lundhoy and half-brother Anthony L. Lundhoy. She is survived by her husband James M. Ammenheuser, Jr.; children L. Renee Eitel, Kristina Eitel of Beaumont, and Lance D. Eitel and wife Debbie (Byrd) of Bullard, Texas; brother Larry M. Lundhoy, half-sister Patricia Ann Wright and husband Larry. Her grandchildren include Shara Perez, Candice Eitel Coker and husband Matt, Libby Eitel, Lance Eitel, Jr. and wife Jessica (Beers) and great grandchildren, Rankin T. Wilkinson, Piper Wren Eitel, Raynie Grace Eitel, and Barrett “Bear” Samuel Coker. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as the children and grandchildren of her husband.

A celebration of Kitty's life memorial service will be held Saturday July 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends starting at 12pm.
