Kathleen Ann Galloway was born at St. Mary's Hospital August 28, 1958 in Paterson, New Jersey, daughter of Garret Kerkhoven and Evelyn Agnes Sebastian (Long). She passed peacefully on June 18, 2018 at home in Lumberton, Texas, under the care of her two sons after a long battle with cancer. She was the middle sibling with her older brother Kevin and her younger brother Neil. She graduated from Pequannock Highschool, class of 1976, before moving to Beaumont, Texas with her mom in 1982. In a short time she met and fell in love with Casey Galloway. They confirmed their love in marriage in Beaumont, Texas, on October 17, 1984. She gave birth to Jamie Lloyd Galloway April 17, 1985 and to Jeremy Neil Galloway on August 29, 1986 (just one day after her own birthday). She raised two strong, sensitive, loving boys while continuing her education at the Lamar Institute of Technology where she earned an Associates degree. Casey passed on December 27, 1998, which was painful for the entire family but Kathleen's resolve never wavered. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide everything she could for her sons and she did so with constant love. She worked for the United States Postal Service in various roles for over two decades. Since an early age, she had a special appreciate for live music and concerts, which never changed, and was passed down to her children. She exercised daily and found joy in regular fitness. She had a deep appreciation for the art of ice skating, which she enjoyed herself in her younger years. She was also a regular patron of the theater and absolutely loved traveling. She was an avid reader, a skilled crossword enthusiast, and she was in her most motherly element when cooking food for her kids, just one of the many ways she showed her love. She was active in the church and had many friends she loved to travel and go out with. The greatest joy in her last years came from being a grandmother to Jaxson Bryant Galloway, Jamie's son. Seeing her hold him, and seeing their smiles together brought peace to everyone.
