Lawrence James Duke, 73, of Sour Lake, died Friday, June 17, 2022 at Arden's Place in Beaumont. A native of Port Arthur, he lived in Sour Lake for 14 years, and was a retired truck driver after many years of faithful service with Fed-Ex. Lawrence proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, bird watching, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan and huge John Wayne Fan, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Alton Duke and Genevieve Degeyter Duke Talbert.
Lawrence is survived by his loving wife Sheila Duke of Sour Lake, son, Lawrence Andrew Duke of Nederland, daughters, Sarah Duke Snider and her husband James of El Paso, Laura Duke Zito and her husband Mike and Tina Baker all of Nederland, three sisters, Nancy Lee, Geraldine Thames, and Darlene Dawson all of Nederland, grandchildren, Elizabeth Duke, Josie Zito, Sophie Zito, Lauren Wilson, and one great grandchild. He was also survived by his fur babies, Sasha, and Floki.
Lawrence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
