Naydean Sheffield

Naydean Sheffield, 97, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday March 29, 2014 at Rosewood 1 Assisted Living Center in Jasper. Mrs. Sheffield was born on September 24, 1916 in Roganville, Texas to her parents Jesse Nilas and Pearl Payne McKeithen who preceded her in death. She was a sixty-three year resident of Pasadena, Texas and attended faithfully The Christian Temple Assembly of God Church in Houston. She was a devoted homemaker and member of the Pasadena Garden Club. Also during her life she was an accomplished seamstress and did several window displays for Foley’s in Houston. Naydean was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Lane Sheffield, second husband, Ernest Pylant, sister, Merle Houston, grandson, Leslie Keith McGowen, brother, Raymond McKeithen, sister Louise Costilow. Surviving Mrs. Sheffield are her daughter: Jo Nell McGowen and husband Ed of Newton, sisters, Vinnie Force of San Augustine, Sybil McKeithen of Jasper, grandson Ed McGowen, Jr., great grandchildren: April Culala and husband Andy, Kayla McGowen, great great grandchildren: Eden Jeanne’ Culala and Tobias Culala.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 3, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 4, 2014 At Friendship Church in Roganville at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Friendship Cemetery.
