

Ralph Donald Hodges was born August 20, 1927 in Brunswick, Georgia to Johnnie Columbus Hodges and Jeanette Mazoe Hodges. He spent his childhood and formidable years in Plant City, Florida, then made his home in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated high school from Plant City High school and after moving to Texas briefly attended Lamar College.
Upon graduation he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Japan. He served his country as a combat medic then transferred to the 3rd Engineers. Honorable discharge from the Army brought him back to Beaumont, Texas and to Elsie Mae Allen, whom he married and had two beautiful children. Ralph was employed by Sears & Roebuck for 37 years as a service technician, retiring in 1987.
He is proceeded in death by Elsie Allen Hodges, his father Johnie Hodges and mother Jeanette Hodges as well as his step mother Laylor Caples. He is also proceeded by his siblings Russell Hodges, J.C. Hodges, Betty Long, and Eleanor Kemp and step brother Arthur Caples.
He is survived by his children Dan Hodges, and Deborah Buller, grandchildren Kimberly Duncan, Barbara Sekaly, Michael Buller and Tara Hodges. He was blessed with 9 great grand children and 8 great great grandchildren
Ralph Hodges is a World War II veteran, as well as a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge #286 in Beaumont.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday December 16 2020 at 5 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held Thursday December 17 2020 at 2 PM.
