R.C. Jones, 89, died Monday, June 3, 2013 in Smith Point, TX. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Jones was born in Logansport, LA on February 14, 1924. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII and was a 32degree with the Snow River Masonic Lodge in Spurger, TX. He was a retired supervisor after many years with Dresser Ideco. He loved to garden and fish He enjoyed working for Leroy Jordon, Dallas Cowboys, taking care of his farm and ranch.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Eddie Zane Jones, second wife Carol Jones and three sisters, Vernelle Keene, Melva Davis and Marjorie Blackwell.
Survivors include his three sons, James Howard and his wife Susan, Michael B. Jones and Richard Allan Jones. Three sisters, Mildred Weienhoff, Letha Rae Mudd and Billie Smith. Three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
