Sharon Kay Hubbard, 79, of Lumberton died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Born in Snyder, TX, Sharon grew up in Coahoma, TX. She graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Home Economics/Education. She taught school in Childress for several years. Much of her career was spent in sales, which was a perfect fit for her outgoing personality. She lived for many years in both Denver and Seattle where she enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings.
Sharon was funny, high energy, and always ready for an adventure. Her favorite pastime was planning trips and she traveled all over the world. One of her favorite places to visit was Lake Como, Italy where she could sit on the balcony and sip a cappuccino. She loved nice perfume, makeup, flashy clothes, and jewelry. She never met a bracelet she didn't love.
Sharon was a great seamstress and could recreate any pattern. She even sewed herself a beautiful sequined ball gown for her son-in-law's Naval Officer Ball. She was known for her cooking skills and her homemade yeast rolls were unrivaled. Her cornbread dressing was so special that she once made the cornbread at home in Texas and flew with it to Seattle so she would have the correct ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner. She loved dishes with matching placemats and napkins and always set a beautiful table. She took pride in decorating her home.
She loved her dogs, friends, and family equally. She valued her church family and was a faithful member of Dowlen Road Church of Christ in Beaumont. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven singing and making new friends as she never met a stranger. Sharon was one-of-a-kind and she will be missed greatly.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gorman and Vivian Finley. Sharon is survived by her daughter Krista Salesberry and husband Ron of Oklahoma City, OK; son Kent Hubbard and wife Cheryl of Elgin, TX; brothers Gorman Finley and wife Cheryl of Beaumont, and Gary Finley and wife Barbara of Sour Lake; grandsons Tyler Salesberry of Oklahoma City, OK, and Bradley Salesberry and wife Brooke of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her great grandson, Benjamin Salesberry, and nieces Shana Turow and husband John of Lewisville, TX, Jennifer Finley and Ashlie Finley both of Abilene, TX and nephew Jim Finley and wife Catherine of Los Angeles, CA.
