

William Lamar Carter, age 96, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Flower Mound, Texas. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday May 21, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was born in New Albany, Mississippi to the late Maude and Edgar Carter on October 12, 1918. Following his service in the Army, Mr. Carter moved to Beaumont, TX, where he met and married his beloved wife, Valerie Craft on April 8, 1950. The couple was married for 62 years. Mr. Carter worked for Mobil Oil Refinery in Beaumont, TX for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Valerie Craft Carter on May 21, 2012. Other family members who preceded him are his granddaughter, Lyndsay Manuel, age 22 on May 29, 2010; a brother, Paul Carter and sister, Ritha Ann Hensley.
Survivors include: daughter, Barbara Manuel and spouse, Lester of Lake Villa, IL; daughter, Deborah Bruening and spouse, Michael of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren: Rachael Manuel, age 29, Taylor Manuel, age 21, Greg Bruening, age 27 and Brett Bruening, age 26 and 2 siblings; Linda Thornton of Memphis, TN and Mary Ellen Luter of Jacksonville, FL.
