Constance "Conni" Rutlin, a woman of profound grace, unwavering kindness, and an enduring spirit of patience, transitioned from this life to her eternal home with Christ. Born on February 23, 1963, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Sylvia Russell and John Garrett, Conni carried the warmth of her Southern roots with her throughout a life defined by service, family, and faith.
A proud 1981 graduate of Hazelwood Central High, Conni continued her education at Florissant Valley Community College. During her college years, her vibrant spirit led her to become an Alpha Angel, a role that reflected her natural ability to uplift and inspire those around her.
Conni's faith was the foundation of her life. She dedicated her life to Christ and was a devoted member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Robertson in Hazelwood, Missouri, where she proudly served as the President of the choir. Her walk with God was evident in her character; even when faced with challenges, she remained the most patient and encouraging soul, meeting every day with a gentle smile and a heart full of love.
In 2019, Conni relocated to Portland, Oregon, beginning a beautiful new chapter. While in the Pacific Northwest, she lived a life of full-circle joy, finding deep professional fulfillment as a Care Coordinator at Housecall Providers. She truly loved her work, and her colleagues and friends quickly became a second family, drawn to her professional excellence and her genuine, compassionate nature.
While she achieved much, Conni's greatest masterpiece was her family.
She was the devoted mother of three: Courtland "Cory" Danrich, Cameryn "Cam" Rutlin, and Christoph "Chris" Rutlin. Her legacy of love found its brightest spark in her only grandson, August Williams, who was truly the love of her life; to him, she wasn't just a grandmother, she was his "MiMi, his best friend and the light of his world. The time they spent together in Portland was a gift she cherished above all else.
Conni was a beloved sister to Vanessa "Sheri" Rutlin, Erika Russell, Sandy Garrett, and Vincent Garrett. She also held a deeply cherished place in her heart for her only niece, Courtnei "Coca-Cola" Rutlin.
We remember Conni for being a light to so many. She was graceful until the very moment God called her home, leaving us with a blueprint of how to love unconditionally and live faithfully. #FOREVER23
