Our beloved Dorothy passed away peacefully at a memory care facility in Beaverton, OR surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Albert and Ida Hansen. Dorothy was born and raised in Laurel, NE. There she met and married her husband, Delmar French on Feb. 7, 1942.
Her greatest joys were her family, and baking all sorts of candies, breads and pies for their holiday parties. She loved to crochet, play cards, go bowling, and traveling to Palm Desert in Winter. Her all time favorite activities were listening to Lawrence Welk, dancing and long walks with family and friends. She always had a smile on her face for anyone that met her.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Helen Kumm and Tootie Lipp; sons, Rod and Rick French; daughter Janna Rowland; and 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Christy, Tina, Nathan, Stephanie and Berk; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers; Howard and Dick Hansen; husband of 38 years, Delmar French; and husband of 12 years, Sherman Moen; and grandson, Robert Stevens.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29th, at Pegg, Paxson & Springer Funeral Chapel, 4675 SW Watson, Beaverton, OR 97005.
A Rosary will be held at 12:30 p.m. and Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 3145 SW 192nd Ave, Beaverton, OR 97006 with private interment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
