Gregory R. Collins, beloved husband of Lynnette Sorensen, passed away at home; in the little slice of heaven that he created. As well as his wife, he is survived by son, Jason Collins (Dawn Collins), his daughter Stacy Link (Dustin Link), two grandsons, and three granddaughters. Additionally, he is survived by his step-son, Lindsay Stout (Cassidy Stout) and two grandsons.
Greg is also survived by four siblings, a very large extended family, and many friends. Greg is predeceased by his brother, Brian Collins.
Greg had the patience of a Saint, even in the midst of pandemonium. He was a quiet man, who let his actions speak louder than his words. He earned the respect of all that he met. Once invited past his impenetrable exterior, you found a man who was warm & open-minded, with a clever, dry wit. He always made the right decisions, and did right by others.
Greg took great pride in his career. Beginning at IBM, in New York state, his career took him across the US, ending in Oregon. He valued his Associates, and derived great pleasure in watching them succeed.
Greg was born in Warwick RI, and raised in Coventry. He joined the US Marines at a very young age. Upon his return, he launched his career with IBM, in its formative phases. Next, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, for 25 years, and finally, Beaverton, OR. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to live his dream. He will always call Oregon home. Greg excelled at everything. He applied the same precision and, surprisingly artistic flair to anything he chose to do.
Greg will be missed terribly by his family, friends and associates. His wife, Lynnette, loves him with all of her heart, and looks forward to being with him again.
