Jo Jean was born in Tulsa, OK on March 24, 1943 to Charles and Betty (Norris) Lowery. She was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Tulsa. Mrs. Goodrich worked for many years as a stewardess on TWA, achieving the prestigious One Million Flight Miles award. In 1966 she married Jere Goodrich in San Francisco. The couple traveled all over the world for business and pleasure. In additional to travel, Jo Jean enjoyed reading, sewing, homemaking and decoration, movies, and activities with her lifelong friends including Stewardess Ameritas, the Parott Mountain Ladies Club and Columbia River Yacht Club. Her main passion in life, however, was working on behalf of the profoundly disabled. Jo Jean began this work due to her daughter Jill’s disability, but soon became a tireless advocate at the Sherwood School District for handicapped and disabled students’ accessibility and opportunity. She ultimately became a board member at D.E.A.R (Daytime Enrichment Activities & Recreation) and was active in the daily care of the clients including her daughter Jill.
Jo Jean is survived by
her husband of 47 years, Jere Goodrich of Beaverton;
Children Julie Goodrich of Aloha, Jill Goodrich of Beaverton, and Jon Goodrich of Lake Oswego;
and by two grandchildren, Grace and Isabel.
