April 27, 1924 – October 18,2011
Julia, the daughter of Joseph & Lillian of the Czech Republic, was born in Omaha, Nebraska. She later moved to Oregon where she graduated from Scappoose High School. From there, she moved to Portland, then Tigard and finally to Beaverton. In 1965, she went to work at Tektronix where she retired from 25 years later.
Julia enjoyed discovering and honoring her Czechoslovakian heritage through travels to Czechoslovakia, Ellis Island and Branson, Missouri. Other pastime favorites were needlepoint, mystery/romance novels, luncheons with her friends and volunteering to pack groceries for the St. Vincent DePaul.
She is survived by her husband (William), four children (Beverly, Larry, Alan and Barbie) and her four grandchildren (Traci, Delah, Brina & Devon).
We admire Julie’s quiet strength and courage. We will always remember her sense of humor, her caring nature and smile. We love you Mom/Grammy.
The family will have a private memorial.
