Mrs. Kathryn A Cochrane

Kathryn Anne Cochrane, resident of Beaverton and Portland, OR (85) passed peacefully away in her sleep on Monday, July 19, 2021. Kathy was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 24, 1936 to parents Joseph and Marie Winnefeld. She graduated from Broadripple High School, class of 1954 and Butler University, class of 1958. Upon graduation she taught sixth grade public school. Kathy married Robert Cochrane also of Indianapolis, IN in 1962. Bob's career in the lumber forest products industry took them west to Tacoma, WA, Los Angeles, CA, and Beaverton, OR in 1966.

Much of Kathy's time in the Portland area was spent as an advocate for the mentally and developmentally disabled.

Survivors included husband, Bob of Portland, OR; son, Steve of Beaverton, OR; brother, Mike of Cicero, IN; and sister, Debbie of Greenwood, IN.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and son, Bryan Cochrane formerly of Portland, OR.

At Kathy's request there will be no services. However, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer's research or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the medical and care staff at Westhills Health and Rehab in Portland, OR. Their tireless dedication and hard work were greatly appreciated.
