Lisa Lee VanWinkle was born on March 12, 1960 in Forest Grove to Linda Kay VanWinkle and Herbert "Skip" Walter VanWinkle. Lisa was raised in Forest Grove, Oregon with her three siblings, attended Forest Grove High School, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Oregon State University. She met her husband Craig Redding of Coronado, California while both students at Oregon State University and married on September 11, 1982 in Forest Grove, Oregon. Daughter Nicole Lee was born in 1988 followed by son Jacob Randall in 1995.
She worked for many years in Store Purchasing at Thrifty PayLess (now Rite-Aid) until Jacob was born, when she raised her children at home full-time. When Jacob began school, Lisa began volunteering at Newberg Christian Church (now Northwest Christian Church) and was hired as a preschool teacher for WeeCare, where she worked for almost 20 years until her passing, doing what she loved, nurturing the newest generations, teaching them about God's word and love.
Lisa was an avid reader, trivia buff, and enjoyed tending to her garden. She enjoyed good food and wine, and loved spending time with her family, friends, and communing at church.
Lisa passed away suddenly at home on Mother's Day, May 9, 2021. She was 61.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Redding; children, Nicole Redding Tauc (Martin Tauc) and Jacob Redding; mother, Linda VanWinkle; sister, Julee Howard (Alan Howard); brother, Mark VanWinkle; and loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and devoted friends. She is preceded by her father, Herbert VanWinkle (Linda VanWinkle); and her brother, John VanWinkle (Lisa VanWinkle).
